PITTSBURGH

Coming from a city rich with culture, art, and most of all bridges. Bridges are often seen in my work due to the nature of their frequency in my home city but as well as their culture narrative they present. Pittsburgh was an amazing starting point for my photography and art education in general. Starting from a very young age browsing the vast collection of sculptures, painting, and photographs of the Carnegie Art Museum. Eventually I would come to discover the world famous artist who hailed from Pittsburgh, Andy Warhol. Exploring his museum became a tradition for my parents and I every three months or so. His work has inspired a lot of techniques I utilize within my own work today such as board spectrums of clashing colors and high contrasted textures and details. Another not as well known photographer hailing from Pittsburgh named Teenie Harris has influenced my work with street photography.
