About the Artist
My name is Pearce Tai Thomasson. My goal is to transcend language, culture, and economic backgrounds with the goal of creating a new photographic masterpiece.
“Live with no excuses and travel with no regrets”
I first picked up a camera when looking through my mother's attic at age twelve. I realized how much I loved making art adapting the mediums photography, writing, and painting. At thirteen, I received recognition from my school’s art teacher and was given an independent study course on photography where I experimented with self-portrait modeling and abstract photo editing. I was given the opportunity to work for the upscale Pittsburgh event planning company Acrobatique Creative taking photographs for their fashion shows and community events. At the same time, I came into contact with the regional magazine Stroll. I started taking photographs for my community as well as getting my own personal page in the publication to showcase my latest works every month which I continue to do today. At age fourteen, my art teacher, Bruce Palmiscno, assisted me in earning an opportunity to showcase my photography in The Westmoreland Museum of American Art. Submissions of my work were given to the museum and I became the first-ever student artist ever to be showcased in this museum's history. The twelve-piece showcase was intended to be only a couple weeks but lasted about three months per request of the museum. Now at age seventeen I have traveled to seven foreign countries and have added over sixty new photography techniques to my work. My work quickly became internationally oriented as traveling has always been a big part of my life. Sharing the various cultures and views through my art. I studied abroad as an international exchange student in Brest, France as represented on France's gallery on this website. Currently seventeen, I have recently returned to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to finish my senior year of high school.
